Satoshi Nakamoto’s wallet contains 1.096 million BTC, worth approximately $70.43 billion at current prices. A viral claim suggested it would be possible to seize this fortune by guessing a 24-word seed phrase, but experts have quickly dismissed this claim. According to researchers, even with computing power capable of generating one trillion combinations per second, finding a specific 24-word seed phrase with a 50% probability of success would take approximately 1.8 octodecillion years, a figure that vastly exceeds the age of the universe estimated at 13.8 billion years. Additionally, Satoshi’s coins are distributed across more than 22,000 old-style P2PK addresses, meaning an attacker would need to compromise thousands of wallets individually rather than just one.
