Broadcom CEO Hock Tan compared many AI investors to casino gamblers at the DBS Asia Future Forward Conference on October 12, 2026 in Singapore, triggering a roughly 3% drop in the iShares Semiconductor ETF (SOXX) and a 2% decline in Broadcom’s share price. The company reported $16.7 billion in AI-related revenue for fiscal Q3, up 221% year-over-year, with forecasts of $21.7 billion for Q4 and $58 billion for fiscal 2026. Tan also warned that access to capital could become the main constraint on AI infrastructure growth, surpassing limitations related to chips or electricity.
