BNB Chain released the BSC-Reth v0.1.4 hotfix and instructed node operators on both the mainnet and testnet to upgrade and restart their machines. This mandatory update, published on November 3, 2026, is aligned with BSC v1.8.2 and must be completed before the Jenner hardfork activates on December 8, 2026, at 02:30 UTC. On November 6, BNB Chain acknowledged a potential security risk affecting the Reth client, said the impact on BSC-Reth was limited, and confirmed that opBNB was not affected. BNB Chain also aims to migrate all existing validators to BSC-Reth before the end of 2026, citing an approximately 40% increase in throughput and improved execution performance.
