Blur announced that its website will close on November 12, 2026, while Ethereum NFT marketplace contracts remain operational on-chain. Monthly NFT trading volume dropped more than 99.5% from its peak, falling from approximately $1.43 billion in March 2023 to below $7 million in March 2026. The lending service Blend will also shut down on the same date, requiring borrowers to repay loans or face default. BLUR price declined more than 20% following the announcement, trading around $0.015 with a market cap of approximately $38.75 million. BLUR holders will retain control of the fee switch, but the protocol’s future depends on whether external builders will create interfaces to sustain activity on the contracts.
