Bitwise Asset Management has raised its Bitcoin price target to $1.6 million by 2036, up from $1.3 million by 2035 in its previous forecast. From the current price of approximately $83,500, the projection implies a compound annual growth rate of 34.3%. The scenario is based on Bitcoin’s limited supply, growing institutional adoption, and currency debasement risks associated with rising sovereign debt. The firm expects Bitcoin to capture 25% of the store-of-value market, which combines Bitcoin and gold, and considers it the best-performing institutional asset of the coming decade. Bitwise also projects institutional allocations of 1% to 5% of portfolios, while identifying quantum computing, artificial intelligence, and regulatory changes as the model’s main risks.
