Crypto exchange Bitget suffered a $387 million theft attributed by analytics firm Chainalysis to North Korean-linked hackers. This attack brings the total value of crypto stolen by DPRK-affiliated actors this year above $1 billion. The attackers used a cross-chain swap mechanism to convert stolen XRP into Bitcoin, moving the funds away from exchanges. DeFi protocols Drift and KelpDAO are mentioned in connection with the investigation.
