Bitcoin shows resilience despite stronger US Dollar Index

Bitcoin gained approximately 6.14% in September 2026 even as the US Dollar Index (DXY) climbed to 101.61, its highest level since late July, defying the classic inverse correlation between the two assets. September has historically been unkind to Bitcoin, averaging a loss of about 2.42%, making this month a significant anomaly. Bitcoin surged over 40% in Q3 2026 from July lows around $58,500, driven in large part by record Spot Bitcoin ETF inflows approaching $2.4 billion in a single week. With the 10-year Treasury yield surpassing 5% and the 30-year yield hitting levels not seen since 2002, the key question is whether ETF inflows can continue to offset macro headwinds in a higher-rate environment.
