Bitcoin Lags Stock Rally After Hawkish Fed Hold

Bitcoin ended July down 3.5% over 24 hours at $62,464, sitting out the stock rally as the Fed held its hawkish stance with persistent inflation. The S&P 500 rose 1.7% and the Nasdaq gained 2.8%, while the Fed held rates at 3.50%–3.75% for the fifth consecutive meeting with no rate cut timeline in sight. Ether dropped 3.1% to $1,863 and total crypto market capitalization slipped 2.3% to $2.24 trillion. Bitcoin still gained 4.3% in July overall. Bitcoin ETFs saw $233.1 million in net inflows on Thursday, their strongest day in over three weeks, and ether funds attracted $103.9 million over the week.
