Bitcoin Core has patched three vulnerabilities that could slow down or take Bitcoin nodes offline. The first allowed an attacker to crash nodes running on Windows or macOS, while the second could exhaust memory and reduce their capacity to process new transactions. The third affected corrupted data on 32-bit computers and could cause those systems to shut down completely. Rated medium, medium and low severity, respectively, the flaws could neither steal bitcoin nor compromise private keys. Bitcoin Core released fixes in versions 29, 30, 31 and 32 and will now accelerate its disclosure process for vulnerabilities that are easy to discover.
