Bitcoin, BTC-Related Stocks Tumble After Senate Blocks Clarity Act

Bitcoin’s price dropped 4% to approximately $75,939, while crypto-related stocks also declined after the U.S. Senate blocked the Clarity Act in a procedural vote. The bill, which aimed to clarify digital asset regulation by distinguishing between securities, commodities and stablecoins, was rejected by a 49-to-50 vote. Coinbase fell more than 10%, Strategy dropped over 5%, and publicly traded bitcoin miners MARA, CleanSpark and Core Scientific each lost at least 5%. Senators Elizabeth Warren and Bernie Sanders criticized the bill, with Sanders noting that the Trump family had reportedly pocketed over $1.4 billion from crypto deals.
