Bitcoin absorbs initial pre-Fed sell-off, leaving $70K as a critical test for Warsh’s Fed decision

Bitcoin fell below $75,000 on September 15 after the US Senate rejected the CLARITY Act (49-50 vote, short of the 60-vote cloture threshold), extending a selloff already underway. Coinbase dropped roughly 10% and Circle lost more than 11%, with US crypto businesses most directly exposed to federal regulation taking the heaviest losses. The 10-year Treasury yield reached 5.041%, its highest level since 2007, while Brent crude traded above $105 per barrel. Bitcoin is now testing the $70,000 200-day moving average ahead of the September 16 FOMC meeting, with $70,000 serving as a critical test for Kevin Warsh’s guidance. A sustained break below that level would expose the $62,000-$65,000 zone, where long-term holders accumulated approximately 476,000 BTC this year.
