Binance began migrating non-stock crypto assets from Funding Accounts to Spot Accounts on September 29, with the process set to continue in stages through January 2027. At that point, Funding Accounts will be renamed Stocks Accounts and dedicated to settlement for stocks and stock options alongside supported assets like USD, USDC, USDT and BNB. This is an internal account-architecture change rather than a forced liquidation, with the total value of user assets remaining unchanged. The reorganization reflects Binance’s expansion into tokenized stock products, as the exchange structures its platform with distinct account types for different asset classes.
