Billionaire oil tycoon Harold Hamm donated $150 million to the University of Oklahoma to fund diabetes research, a disease he was diagnosed with in his 50s. This gift, the largest in the university’s history, brings his total lifetime giving to nearly $250 million. The Oklahoma City health campus will be renamed the Harold Hamm Health Campus. Of this amount, $100 million will fund the campus’s broader work and $50 million will go to the Harold Hamm Diabetes Center. Hamm, 80, founded Continental Resources in 1967 and now has an estimated net worth of nearly $18 billion.
