The city of Berlin fell victim to a massive cyberattack orchestrated by the Rhysida hacker group, resulting in the theft of several terabytes of data. The attackers demanded a ransom of 30 bitcoins, approximately 2 million euros, with a 7-day ultimatum. Berlin’s Senate refused to negotiate and did not pay the ransom. Since last week, the stolen data has been published on the darknet, exposing the information of affected citizens.
