Australia’s financial regulator AUSTRAC announced on September 7 that it canceled, suspended or refused to renew 45 remittance and virtual asset provider registrations over the past year. GetCoins, identified as BA Digital Ventures Pty Ltd, lost its registration on June 4, three months before the September announcement. AUSTRAC worked with the National Anti-Scam Centre following customer complaints and linked the cancellation to the disruption of alleged cryptocurrency investment scams. The regulator disclosed no customer recoveries or criminal findings against the provider.
