Argentina will launch in the fourth quarter of 2026 South America’s first citizenship-by-investment program, with two options: a non-refundable contribution of $350,000 for a single applicant ($500,000 for a family of four) or an $800,000 investment in a government bond created for the program. Nuri Katz, founder of Apex Capital Partners and advisor to the Argentine government, predicts the passport will become a status symbol for wealthy Americans, saying those who do not have one will be embarrassed. An Apex survey conducted in June among 1,733 Americans with household incomes above $200,000 shows that 61% would consider leaving the United States within five years, primarily due to cost of living and taxes (68%). The program aims to attract dollars to the debt-saddled country.
