Apple unveiled HomeView, its first smart home display, at a major product launch on Tuesday. The device, which resembles a giant Apple Watch and echoes the 2002 iMac G4 design, costs $299 and will be available on November 13, with a wall-mounted version also offered. The announcement included a new Apple TV 4K with an upgraded chip, the HomePod mini 2, and home accessories developed with LG and Schneider Electric, such as a video doorbell, smart thermostat, and smart lock. The upgraded Siri, powered by Google’s Gemini AI technology, will be central to these devices, enabling it to understand what is on a user’s screen, assist with writing, and search a user’s phone for context. Apple’s Wearables, Home and Accessories segment declined 4% in fiscal year 2025 to approximately $35.7 billion, underscoring the urgency for the company to close the gap with Amazon and Google in AI and the smart home market.
