Anthropic is reportedly preparing a new feature for its Claude assistant that would give it direct access to users’ bank accounts in order to provide personalized personal finance insights. According to The Verge, Claude could read bank and card data, but only on a read-only basis and without being able to execute transactions. The integration, potentially provided through Plaid, would expand Claude’s access to financial data beyond existing third-party connectors. Anthropic has not confirmed the feature’s full scope, supported markets or privacy terms. Further launch details could influence market pricing and expectations about Anthropic’s valuation, with current market odds appearing less supportive of the company reaching a $600 billion valuation by year-end.
