Anthropic warned in its IPO prospectus that US government attitudes toward the company and its technology could affect its commercial relationships, including with customers and partners. The filing reveals that the president ordered federal agencies in February to stop using the company’s models, and that the Department of Defense designated Anthropic as a national security supply-chain risk. In June, the Commerce Department imposed worldwide export restrictions on the Fable 5 and Mythos 5 models, forcing Anthropic to disable them. The company, which could be valued at $2 trillion, said revenue from government agency contracts accounts for less than 1% of its annual revenue.
