Anthropic signed a lease on October 16, 2026 with EverWind for capacity at a new data center campus in Point Tupper, Nova Scotia. This is Anthropic’s first data center deal in Canada, with an initial commitment of at least 20 years. The first phase is planned at 95 megawatts, targeted for late 2027, with the full campus aiming for 420 megawatts by 2028. The project carries a price tag above 10 billion Canadian dollars, including 8 billion for the data center and 2 billion for onshore wind energy projects. At full operation, the campus is projected to create approximately 2,000 construction jobs, 215 permanent positions and add around 137 million Canadian dollars annually to Nova Scotia’s GDP.
