Anthropic plans unusual IPO lockup that lets some insiders sell early

Anthropic plans to allow certain investors and employees to sell a limited number of their shares during its IPO, before the end of the usual 180-day lockup period. The remaining pre-IPO shares could remain locked until mid-2027 under certain circumstances, while the company is also considering 10b5-1 trading plans for employees. The company confidentially submitted its registration statement to the SEC on June 1, 2026, and filed its S-1 on October 26, 2026, potentially enabling a listing as early as mid-November. Valuation discussions center on $1.5 trillion to $2 trillion, with quarterly revenue projected at a mid-teens billions of dollars level by the third quarter of 2026.
