Anthropic launched on September 17 a beta Life Sciences Verification Program, giving qualifying organizations access to its most advanced biology-focused AI models, including Mythos 5.1, Opus 5 and Sonnet 5. This invite-only program covers applications ranging from protein engineering to virology research. Interested teams must submit an admin form and wait for Anthropic’s review, with no guarantee of approval. The program includes biosafety classifiers and controlled access pathways to manage dual-use risks. Anthropic has established partnerships with Novo Nordisk, the Allen Institute and the Howard Hughes Medical Institute, as well as a formalized collaboration with the US government to vet access to its high-capacity models in sensitive biological research areas.
