Charles Hoskinson: Crypto Will Eat AI as the Data Center Boom Goes Dark

Charles Hoskinson, founder of Cardano, predicts that the cryptocurrency industry will overtake artificial intelligence as the data center spending boom runs into economic and electricity limits. He argues that blockchain can solve AI’s core challenges in payments, data provenance, and distributed computing infrastructure. The CEO of Input Output forecasts that US crypto regulation through the CLARITY Act will not happen until 2029, after the Senate failed to advance the bill on September 15 falling short of the 60 votes needed. Hoskinson compared AI’s current position to cryptography in the early days of cryptocurrency and expects AI to follow the same path within five to ten years.
