AMD unveils personal supercomputer for AI-driven computing

AMD unveiled the Threadripper Halo Station at IFA 2026 in Berlin, a desktop workstation dubbed a « personal supercomputer » capable of running trillion-parameter AI models locally. The machine features a 96-core Threadripper Pro 9995WX CPU, up to four liquid-cooled Instinct MI350P accelerators, and up to 576 GB of HBM3E memory. It directly targets Nvidia’s DGX Station in the high-end AI workstation segment, with an estimated price in the six figures and expected availability in 2027.
