AMD CEO Lisa Su calls Samsung and SK Hynix important for long-term supply chain

AMD CEO Lisa Su has identified Samsung and SK Hynix as key strategic partners for the company’s supply chain. As AI demand surges, AMD has extended its planning horizon from one to two years to three to five years. Samsung signed a memorandum of understanding in March 2026 to become the priority supplier of HBM4 memory destined for AMD’s Instinct MI455X AI accelerators. SK Hynix dominates the HBM segment with a market share of approximately 57 to 58 percent, but primarily supplies Nvidia, AMD’s rival in AI accelerators.
