Alibaba unveiled the Zhenwu M890, an AI chip developed by its semiconductor division T-Head, which triples the performance of the previous-generation Zhenwu 810E. This processor features 144 GB of on-chip memory and delivers 800 GB/s of inter-chip bandwidth. It already powers Alibaba’s new Panjiu AL128 supernode server and can connect up to 64 accelerators in congestion-free clusters via the ICN Switch 1.0. T-Head has shipped over 560,000 Zhenwu series chips to more than 400 customers, including China Telecom and automaker FAW Group, with 60% of its production capacity now serving external clients. The roadmap includes the Zhenwu V900 in Q3 2027, estimated to be three times more powerful than the M890.
