AI agents can now buy domains on Atom using x402 payments via Coinbase

Atom.com, the premium domain marketplace operated by AtomHQ, has integrated with Coinbase Business to enable AI agents to purchase domains with stablecoins through the x402 protocol. Payments are settled on Base using USDC or USDT, with no transaction limits, across an inventory of more than two million premium domain names. The x402 protocol supports machine-to-machine payments without network fees and enables micropayments below $0.10 through USDC’s EIP-3009 standard. According to Chainalysis, more than 138 million x402 transactions were recorded on Base by the third quarter of 2026, with 87% costing less than $0.10. The integration completes Atom’s MCP server launched in mid-2026, which already allowed agents to search for and price domains but could not complete purchases autonomously.
