Share

Bitcoin’s mining difficulty has remained below its historical peak for 375 days, an unprecedented streak that exceeds the 364-day period recorded in 2011-2012. After falling to 124.93 T in mid-June 2026, it rebounded by 5.92% and then 5.54% in October before retreating to 148.36 T. The decline in Bitcoin’s price is pushing miners to sell their reserves and pivot toward artificial intelligence, including Riot Platforms, Hut 8, TeraWulf and IREN. The network’s annualized electricity consumption fell from about 227 TWh in October 2025 to 165 TWh, a nearly 28% decrease, while another difficulty drop of around 4% is expected around November 13.
