Thailand’s Securities and Exchange Commission has set December 5, 2026, as the date for blocking access to Bitget’s website and app from the country, following a criminal complaint alleging unlicensed exchange operations. It urged customers to decide what to do with their holdings before the restriction takes effect, without announcing an asset freeze, compulsory sale or separate withdrawal deadline. Bitget’s terms already classify Thailand as a prohibited country and residents there as restricted persons. The actual availability of withdrawals for individual accounts remains uncertain, although Bitget says customer assets are safe. The regulator is continuing its investigation and has named BG Limited and Kritsana Kritsananuwat, who is accused of promoting the platform on Facebook and YouTube between 2022 and 2025.
