Thailand’s Securities and Exchange Commission filed a criminal complaint against BG Limited, the operator of the Bitget digital-asset exchange, alleging that it operated an unlicensed service for Thai customers between 2022 and 2025. It also named promoter Kritsana Kritsananuwat, who allegedly advertised Bitget on Facebook and YouTube. From December 5, the Thai public is expected to lose access to the platform, with holders urged to withdraw their assets before the deadline. Separately, Bitget plans to acquire GMO-Z.com Cryptonomics Thailand, a locally licensed exchange, although the share transfer, postponed to November 30, remains subject to regulatory approval. The SEC has not said whether the criminal complaint will affect the proposed acquisition.
