Apple has added a clause to its insider trading policy prohibiting employees, executives, consultants, contractors and some family members from using confidential information to bet on future events. The rule covers platforms such as Polymarket and Kalshi, as well as bets linked to product launches, Apple’s financial results and the activities of its suppliers, customers and partners. It applies even when the transactions do not legally constitute insider trading and also prohibits sharing the information with third parties who could use it to place bets. Violators may face disciplinary sanctions, including dismissal and the clawback of certain equity compensation. Apple is taking this step after twelve Polymarket accounts were suspected of correctly predicting the exact top five players in the 2026 Ballon d’Or, generating close to $200,000 in gains, in a casePlacement sous investigation_di_251103_120000.
