The SEC’s Division of Corporation Finance considers Canton (CC) a digital commodity whose value derives from the Canton Network’s operations and market dynamics. The no-action letter states that the division will not recommend enforcement action against the project. The institution has already launched a tokenization service with 20 participants, while Uber tested treasury transfers and Taiwan’s TDCC joined the Canton Foundation. The value of tokenized assets on Canton stands at approximately $348.9 billion, more than seven times the combined value of the next four chains. After rebounding from $0.093 to $0.0986, CC gained 5% and trading volume surged 121% to $31 million, but sellers remain dominant, threatening a decline toward $0.092 despite the possibility of a rise to $0.11.
