Payments to life insurers reached 15.4 billion euros in September 2026, up 2% year over year and the highest level recorded for that month. Over the first nine months of the year, net inflows amounted to 47.6 billion euros, including 36.7 billion invested in unit-linked funds, while total assets reached 2,161 billion euros at the end of September. Benefits are growing faster than premiums, reducing net inflows for September to 4.1 billion euros from 4.3 billion euros a year earlier. Insurer-managed retirement plans also recorded 3.3 billion euros in contributions excluding transfers in the third quarter, up 9%, with 180,600 new subscriptions.
