Apple reported latest-quarter results above analyst expectations, but its outlook for the coming quarter and some product sales trends disappointed, sending shares down about 4% in premarket trading. Earnings came in at $2.10 per share for the fiscal fourth quarter, compared with the $1.99 expected, while revenue reached $114.48 billion versus $113.39 billion forecast. iPhone sales of $57.58 billion also exceeded expectations, but iPad and other product sales came in below forecasts. For the current quarter, Apple forecast a gross margin of 45% to 46%, below the 46.3% consensus estimate, partly because of rising memory costs and slower Services growth. Despite these near-term risks, most analysts remain positive, citing resilient iPhone demand, the potential of on-device artificial intelligence and an installed base of more than 2.5 billion active devices.
