Lisk officially halted its blockchain operations on November 2 after ten years of activity. The project also shut down its Portal and Bridge services and is progressively powering down the rest of its infrastructure. LSK will nevertheless continue to exist on Ethereum as the loyalty token for Lisk’s new financial platform, which will allow businesses to manage traditional currencies and stablecoins in one place. Lisk plans to burn approximately 5.23 million LSK tokens remaining in its staking rewards pool, permanently reducing the circulating supply. Following the burn of 100 million LSK in September, which lowered the supply from 400 million to 300 million, new LSK use cases are planned for 2027, including rewards for businesses and platform fee payments.
