Mercado Bitcoin suspended deposits and withdrawals on Monday after more than $40 million left wallets linked to the Brazilian platform overnight, according to Hypernative. The platform says it quickly contained the incident, with no customer losses or data leak, while its investigation continues with the competent authorities. Suspicious transfers moved across at least 10 blockchains, including Bitcoin, Ethereum, Solana and Tron, and were signed as if the source wallets had authorized them. Hypernative does not yet know how the attacker obtained signing authority, but one Bitcoin address received about 106 BTC, including 104.4 BTC in a single transfer, while Tether froze the USDT sent to two compromised addresses.
