Name.com restores hijacked domains after attack hit at least 12 DeFi front ends

Name.com has restored the 15 customer domains hijacked in an attack that compromised at least 12 decentralized finance project websites, including 10 domains using Vercel. Between October 30 and 31, 2026, visitors were redirected to lookalike pages using a wallet-draining tool to obtain unauthorized transaction signatures and empty their accounts, resulting in estimated losses of approximately $138,000. The projects’ smart contracts remained uncompromised, and teams that quickly moved their nameservers to Vercel or Cloudflare limited the damage. Name.com advised customers to review their DNS settings and enable two-factor authentication, while investigators continue to determine the exact cause of the breach.
