Binance stated on October 31, 2026, that the ten assets most held by its customers were fully backed after a security incident reportedly costing the exchange about $6.34 billion. The assets are BTC, ETH, USDT, BNB, SOL, USDC, XRP, USD1, RLUSD, and ZEC. According to the exchange, roughly 90% of the losses were covered through a partial deployment of its Secure Asset Fund for Users and corporate funds, while the remaining balance mainly involves lower-liquidity assets. Withdrawals are scheduled to resume in phases from November 1, 2026, and an independent proof of reserves using Merkle trees and zk-SNARKs is expected by November 3.
