Share

Binance suffered the largest crypto theft ever recorded, with approximately $6.4 billion stolen by an attacker identified as NK, compared with $1.5 billion taken in the Bybit hack in February 2025. The funds were moved across three blockchains, and Tether and Circle froze about $2.39 billion, representing 43% of the total. Aave also suspended its Ethereum V3 and V4 markets after a loan linked to the stolen funds, while Binance reserved more than $6.34 billion of company funds to cover losses. Bitcoin fell to $77,500, ether dropped to $2,235, and more than $1.33 billion in positions were liquidated. Hyperliquid nevertheless recorded a strong day, with HYPE up 8% at $92 after announcing a partnership with Intercontinental Exchange, which plans to launch U.S.-based perpetual futures on Hyperliquid pending CFTC approval.
