Meta and Chinese company Fourier reportedly jointly developed a humanoid robot named Max, which would weigh 106 pounds and have been built in three months. The claim, circulated on X, is not supported by any announcement, technical documentation, or verifiable demonstration from either company. No formal partnership between the two firms had been confirmed as of October 2026. Meta nevertheless established a robotics research team within Reality Labs in 2025 and acquired Assured Robot Intelligence in May 2026, while Fourier continues developing its GR-series robots for applications including eldercare. Without official confirmation, Max remains a robot described in social media posts rather than a demonstrated product.
