The Stellar Development Foundation introduced Project Thruput on October 28, a technology preview designed to improve the handling of competing blockchain transactions. In controlled tests, single-validator execution capacity rose from roughly 1.18 million payments per second on one machine to 7.02 million on eight machines. These figures cover only the execution engine and do not represent the end-to-end throughput of Stellar’s public network. The project is available on FutureNet with open-source materials and reproducible benchmarks, and it proposes a model without per-transaction execution fees, while retaining computational limits and using scheduling shares linked to unlocked native-token balances.
