Google Cloud expanded its partnership with Anthropic and Broadcom, announced on April 6, 2026, giving Anthropic access to roughly 3.5 gigawatts of next-generation TPU capacity starting in 2027. Broadcom, which has co-designed Google’s TPUs since around 2016, will also supply networking and rack components through 2031. The $63 billion Project North Star structured financing, backed by Bank of America, Citigroup and Blackstone, will fund Anthropic’s TPU purchases, as the company plans to spend more than $114 billion with Google and has $417 billion in total compute commitments. Its revenue run rate exceeded $30 billion in April 2026, compared with about $9 billion at the end of 2025. The agreement gives Broadcom long-term visibility and secures the capacity Anthropic needs, while Google plans to sell its TPUs beyond its own cloud, including through Oracle Cloud Infrastructure in 2027.
