Coinbase confirmed that an incident at Amplitude, its analytics provider, exposed the contact information of a small subset of customers. The platform denies that its own systems were breached and says customer funds were not affected. The exchange has not disclosed the number of people affected or the precise nature of the exposed data. The announcement came alongside other cybersecurity incidents involving Bithumb and Daishin Securities in South Korea, where 38,490 Daishin customers were affected. In May 2025, Coinbase disclosed a separate data breach involving less than 1% of its monthly transacting users, with reimbursement and remediation costs estimated at up to $400 million.
