Indian cryptocurrency exchange CoinDCX confirmed a loss of 15.99 million USDT linked to its retired wallet infrastructure. According to the exchange, a failed automated transfer process allowed deposits to continue accumulating in obsolete addresses following the July 2025 security incident, which cost the company approximately $44 million. CoinDCX says it absorbed the loss and that active wallets, trading systems and customer balances were unaffected. The confirmation came after chief executive Sumit Gupta dismissed reports of suspicious transactions as a possible false alarm, while the full cause of the loss and the responsible parties remain unidentified.
