A Delphi Digital study published on October 27 estimates that an institution restricting its Ethereum transactions to approved block producers would wait an average of four minutes for an eligible slot if those operators held 5% of the network’s proposer-selection weight. Under that scenario, the probability of finding an eligible proposer within roughly one minute is only 23%; at 40% qualified weight, the expected wait falls to 30 seconds and the one-minute probability rises to 92%. ETHGas announced in April an Ether.fi commitment covering about 40% of its ETH holdings, then valued at $3 billion, but the commitment does not establish that the active stake currently meets institutional requirements. The service offers operator screening, transaction-ordering rules and preconfirmations while keeping final settlement on Ethereum; however, the dashboard’s 221,558 cumulative validator registrations and 104,728 delivered payloads do not measure the currently eligible weight for each institution. The launch of JPM Coin on Ethereum’s mainnet on October 19 highlights the importance of assessing this capacity against the delivery deadlines of institutional financial workflows.
