According to Yonhap News, an external attacker allegedly breached Bithumb’s internal groupware system on October 28, which is separate from its trading platform, and may have obtained personal information. The exchange said customer crypto assets were not directly compromised and no losses had been reported, while it continued investigating whether customer data was included. Daishin Securities disclosed that an external attack exposed the personal and credit information of 38,490 customers, while Mirae Asset Global Investments blocked abnormal access to some web systems without affecting investor information. Meanwhile, contact information belonging to more than 70,000 Coinbase users was reportedly exposed through Amplitude, a third-party analytics provider, rather than through Coinbase’s own systems, with no impact on customer funds.
