MARA Moves 1,000 BTC to BitGo: What It Means for Bitcoin

Share

MARA Holdings, a publicly listed Bitcoin mining company, transferred 1,000 BTC worth $80.19 million to BitGo, fueling speculation that it was preparing to sell them. According to blockchain data published by Lookonchain, the movement followed several smaller transfers likely linked to mining rewards. Market observers said such a sale could absorb buy orders and weigh on Bitcoin, which was trading slightly below $80,000. Bitcoin had lost about 2% over seven days, 5% over two weeks and 31% over twelve months, while some analysts anticipated a rebound toward $94,000 if the $82,000 level were reclaimed. In August, MARA reported a $611 million loss for the second quarter of 2026, a 27% decline in revenue and a drop in its holdings to 35,577 BTC, 29% lower than a year earlier.
