Ripple announced on October 26, 2026 that the OCC had granted final approval to charter Ripple National Trust Bank, following conditional approval obtained in December 2025. The trust bank will be able to manage segregated reserves backing the RLUSD stablecoin, act as collateral trustee for its holders and provide fiduciary custody of digital assets. The OCC has also finalized rules under the GENIUS Act, with a January 18, 2027 effective date. The next useful evidence concerns the bank’s operational launch, reserve reporting and controls, and the protections available to RLUSD users.
