OpenAI released GPT-6.1 Terra on October 26, charging developers half the per-token price of its predecessor. The model now costs $1 per million input tokens and $5 per million output tokens, compared with $2 and $12 for GPT-5.6 Terra. Independent tests from Artificial Analysis still rank two Anthropic models ahead of GPT-6.1 Terra. OpenAI is therefore emphasizing lower costs rather than benchmark rankings.
