The OCC has granted final approval to Ripple National Trust Bank, giving Ripple a federally supervised banking platform. The bank will manage reserves backing the RLUSD stablecoin and serve as collateral trustee for token holders, as well as provide custody of digital assets for businesses. The decision follows conditional approval obtained in December 2025 and is part of a broader shift from state-chartered trust banks to the federal system. Ripple National Trust Bank will operate under OCC oversight, while RLUSD will also remain subject to oversight by the New York Department of Financial Services, but no launch date has been announced.
